Phone-free chat netted free meal
ON Wednesday, Oct. 14, we were at Mongo’s Grill on Regent Avenue enjoying a lovely lunch. A young man came up to us as we were finishing and said our lunch was on him.
The reason he gave was that upon looking around as he ate, he noticed we were the only persons in the restaurant engaging in old-fashioned conversation, while our cellphones (all three) were in the corner of the table, untouched, throughout the meal.
He went on to say that was very refreshing to see in this day and age, and complimented us on the art of conversation.
The waitress said he was a regular at Mongo’s. Thank you, Vince. All three of us will pay it forward in some way soon.
You have touched three lives with your generosity.
Kind couple picked up lunch tab
TO the kindest engaged couple in the Olive Garden on Sept. 22, who gave us a big surprise when we asked for the bill and were told our lunch was already paid for: thank you.
It made our day so much more enjoyable, and we will definitely pay it forward. Wishing you many years of happiness.
