Win­nipeg not in Boss’s travel plans

NEW YORK — Bruce Spring­steen will kick off a nine-week U.S. tour next year.

On Fri­day, the 66-year-old icon an­nounced he and the E Street Band will hit the road on The River Tour be­gin­ning Jan. 16 in Pitts­burgh. Spring­steen will play 24 dates and wrap the tour on March 17 in Los An­ge­les.

The lone Cana­dian date is at Toronto’s Air Canada Cen­tre on Feb. 2. The clos­est the Boss will get to Win­nipeg is a Feb. 29 date at the Xcel En­ergy Cen­ter in St. Paul, Minn. Tick­ets go on sale Dec. 11. Fri­day’s an­nounce­ment was made the day he re­leased the four-disc The Ties That Bind: The River Col­lec­tion, which in­cludes un­re­leased songs, the orig­i­nal 1980 The River al­bum and more.

Spring­steen will per­form on Satur­day Night Live on Dec. 19.


As usual, the MTS Cen­tre is not on the itin­er­ary of Bruce Spring­steen’s up­com­ing tour.
