Firefighter to the rescue

Winnipeg Free Press - Section G - - THE SOCIAL PAGE -

MY son Fabian, who uses an electric wheelchair, and his worker Andrea were on their way home when the wheelchair stopped working.

They were a few blocks from home. You can put the wheelchair in manual operation and push it, but it is very heavy. Andrea called me at home to say she was in a bit of a pickle as she was so tired out from pushing and didn’t think she could make it home.

I set out to find them, and when I did a retired firefighter had stopped his car to help.

He was a very nice man and told us that he was retired and volunteered at the firefighters museum. He invited my son to come and visit sometime. We thanked him so much for helping us, but thought he deserved a special mention in random acts of kindness.
