TV show will see singles vying for a love match
TORONTO — Canadian singles, start drafting your recipes for romance.
Corus Entertainment says it plans to air a Canadian version of ITV Studios’ new international format Come Date With Me on W Network in winter 2013.
A spinoff of the franchise Come Dine With Me, which also has a Canuck version on W Network, the series will see four singles each going on a date with one love interest.
The singles will then host a dinner party in their own homes for one another as well as the love interest, who will rate each event and pick a winner to share $1,000 for “the ultimate dream date.”
Production is scheduled to start this summer with casting to begin in June.
Proper Television, which is producing the series in association with W Network, says it’s currently casting for single candidates in the Toronto area “who aren’t afraid to lay it on the line and fall in love in the process.” NASHVILLE — Gregg Allman is getting married for the seventh time. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member has told several interviewers this week that he’s engaged to his 24-year-old girlfriend, Shannon Williams, and Allman’s publicist and manager confirmed the news Friday.
Little is known about Williams, who entered the 64-year-old rock pioneer’s life after a liver transplant and a run of health difficulties. Allman told the AP in a lovestruck voice he met her while in Florida on Friday, Jan. 13, and “I am totally in love.”
Allman’s failed marriages make up a significant part of My Cross to Bear, a bestseller after its release May 1. He offers a rare glimpse into his private life, detailing the rise and collapse of his relationship with Cher, among other topics. It’s clear his failed relationships haunt him. He told the AP he has a distrust of the institution of marriage and has been left with the feeling that few, if any, of his wives were actually deeply in love with him.
No date has been set for the marriage.
