Young driver’s thoughtfulness impresses

Winnipeg Free Press - Section G - - THE SOCIAL PAGE -

I had pulled in to park on Portage Avenue in front of Deer Lodge Place. It was about 3:15 p.m., and I was going up to visit my husband.

A car stopped right behind me. The young man driving was trying to tell me something, so I walked back to be able to hear him.

He told me I had better not park there or my car would be towed away.

I replied that it was Sunday and the ban wasn’t in effect, to which he replied, “No, it is Monday.”

I thanked him and moved my car. This young man was in his 20s, I would guess, and he took the time to help me out. People should judge each individual by their actions. I hear a lot of detrimental remarks about young drivers, but they are not all the same.

Thank you again, young man.
