Much support after collision with deer

Winnipeg Free Press - Section G - - THE SOCIAL PAGE -

My daughter and I were on our way to Costco when a deer leaped out on Regent Avenue just past Plessis Road.

The deer shattered my windshield and damaged parts of the front end of my new car, which only had about 2,300 kilometres on it. I pulled my car onto a side street to compose myself after the shock.

Thanks to the several drivers who stopped to make sure we were all right.

Special thanks to the lady driving a red truck who stopped to check on us and said she had called the police about the accident and the deer.

Many thanks to Evan Chrisp and his wife, Sook, who stopped to give us their information to be witnesses. They stayed with us until the fire department and tow truck came.

Thanks to all the firefighters who stayed with us, too, and showed so much concern for our well being.

I am so happy and thankful for the kindness of all these people who gave up their time to make sure we were safe.
