Kindness made Canada Day great

Winnipeg Free Press - Section G - - ENTERTAINMENT -

I just had an excellent experience, though it looked like it would be a tough and hard lesson.

After shopping for groceries, I put my bag in my bike basket and cycled home past Jubilee Avenue and Osborne Street.

Somewhere along the way, my wallet fell out — driver’s licence, library card, chequebook, money, you know, the works.

When I unloaded my groceries, I realized the wallet was gone. Yikes!

I jumped on my bike to retrace my steps and checked at the store. No sign of it.

I started to catalogue all the difficulties this presented, especially on a long weekend.

On the off-chance someone had found and returned it, I opened our front door, and there it was — with everything in it!

So, wow — and wow to whoever found and returned it. I hope you had a grand Canada Day. You certainly made mine wonderful.
