Brave stranger rescued Duke

Winnipeg Free Press - Section G - - THE SOCIAL PAGE -

I want to thank the kind stranger who found our dog at Waverley Street and Perimeter Highway on Sept. 22.

Part of our fence had been knocked down, which we didn’t know when we let Duke out in the backyard. I was frantic. I stayed home in case Duke came back, and my husband and daughter took their cars and went looking for him for about two hours.

I called the vet, the pound and the Winnipeg Humane Society. What a relief when I got a call back that Duke had been turned in by a kind stranger who drove him to the humane society.

Believe me, that would have been no small feat because Duke hates car rides, and he would have been frantic the whole ride. For the person to continue and take him is unbelievable.

Your kindness is appreciated.
