In 1978, Who drum­mer Keith Moon died at 31 of an over­dose of a seda­tive that had been pre­scribed for his al­co­holism. Moon died in the same Lon­don apart­ment in which Cass El­liot of the Ma­mas and Pa­pas had died four years ear­lier. Moon’s re­place­ment with the Who was Kenny Jones, for­merly of the Small Faces.
