TO Cam, the awesome young man who found our lost dog on a recent weekend, thank you.

Little Baxter got out of our cabin at Grand Beach on the Saturday. Several of my wonderful neighbours and I spent the evening looking for him, posting on a missing dog website, putting up posters, calling Conservation and RCMP offices.

Much to our surprise, my husband (who was travelling in Calgary) got a phone call at 2:30 a.m. that same night to inform him that Baxter had been found wandering the streets of Linden Woods.

How he got to Winnipeg from Grand Beach in three hours is a mystery to us.

Lucky for us, Cam had spotted him on the streets and was concerned when he saw him almost get hit by cars. Cam was able to get Baxter safely into his vehicle and when he saw the tags on his collar, phoned the number to say he had found our little dog.

He then made arrangements to meet me and return Baxter at 4 a.m.!

Thank you Cam, for looking after our dog and for the kindness you showed while he was in your care.

Thank you to Krystyna and Lori, my wonderful, caring Grand Beach neighbours who spent three hours with me in the search.

Thank you to the wonderful, caring people who responded to the missing dog website and to all my amazing Grand Beach neighbours who cared and worried about Baxter.

There is a special place in heaven for you all.
