Three nights at Pyra­mid for At­lanta mu­sic mash-up

AT­LANTA’S Grammy-nom­i­nated The Mad Vi­olin­ist and The Sym­phony Crack Orches­tra has con­firmed it is play­ing a three-night stand at the Pyra­mid Cabaret from Jan. 16 to 18, in sup­port of its sopho­more al­bum, Fiend. Ticket in­for­ma­tion to be an­nounced in the com­ing weeks. Vi­olin­ist Ashanti Floyd and gui­tarist Matt Bar­rett formed the unique hip hop/jazz/R&B col­lec­tive in 2009 to ex­plore a dif­fer­ent, in­no­va­tive style of mu­sic. The Orches­tra’s de­but al­bum, The Ad­dic­tion, was re­leased in 2011. In the last two years, Floyd and Bar­rett have also co-pro­duced and per­formed on al­bums that have earned a com­bined eight Grammy Award nom­i­na­tions. Both can be heard on Lupe Fi­asco’s The Show Goes On, Nicki Mi­naj’s I’m the Best, and Fan­ta­sia Barinno’s Back To Me.
