Kind colleagues organized baby shower

I WAS a young high school student when I got pregnant with my first child. I quit school and got a job to save up money for my baby. The job was an internship. The people I worked with were extremely kind and funny. They organized a baby shower for me at the office and brought food and gifts. It was great, and I loved that some of the things were homemade. To this day, I still have the homemade things because they are so sentimental to me. I learned you don’t have to know people as well as childhood friends to lend a helping hand. There are good people out there who just want to help someone in need. Doing nice things for people, whether small or large, can change their outlook on life. It helped me to appreciate help from others when I used to hate it.
