Exhibition of Falun Gong art part of Peace Days
A TOURING art exhibition about the Falun Gong, a group under persecution in China, begins a weeklong run in Winnipeg Saturday as part of Peace Days and official opening of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. The Falun Dafa Association of Winnipeg is hosting the Art of Zhen Shan Ren Exhibition (Truth, Compassion, Tolerance), which will be on display from Sept. 13 to Sept. 20 (except Sept. 19) at the Red River College’s Roblin Centre. Opening times are between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. The paintings bring the hardships, visions and hopes of the Falun Gong to a worldwide audience. Some of the works in the collection are by Canadian artists, including the painting Uncompromising Courage and An Orphan’s Sorrow, by Ottawa’s Kathy Gillis.
