Ex­hi­bi­tion of Falun Gong art part of Peace Days

A TOUR­ING art ex­hi­bi­tion about the Falun Gong, a group un­der per­se­cu­tion in China, be­gins a week­long run in Win­nipeg Satur­day as part of Peace Days and of­fi­cial open­ing of the Cana­dian Mu­seum for Hu­man Rights. The Falun Dafa As­so­ci­a­tion of Win­nipeg is host­ing the Art of Zhen Shan Ren Ex­hi­bi­tion (Truth, Com­pas­sion, Tol­er­ance), which will be on dis­play from Sept. 13 to Sept. 20 (ex­cept Sept. 19) at the Red River Col­lege’s Roblin Cen­tre. Open­ing times are be­tween 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. The paint­ings bring the hard­ships, vi­sions and hopes of the Falun Gong to a world­wide au­di­ence. Some of the works in the col­lec­tion are by Cana­dian artists, in­clud­ing the paint­ing Un­com­pro­mis­ing Courage and An Or­phan’s Sor­row, by Ot­tawa’s Kathy Gillis.
