Shane a godsend

Winnipeg Free Press - Section G - - THE SOCIAL PAGE -

I am a senior and was on my way to meet two friends at Rossmere bowling lanes. I got off the bus at Henderson Highway and McLeod Avenue and headed towards Tim Hortons to get a cup of coffee. Somehow, I fell and suffered a gash to the head. A young man by the name of Shane McPhail was a godsend. He had supplies and wiped away all the blood. He worked quietly and methodically and assured me the cut wasn’t too bad, my eye looked OK, and that people bleed volumes from cuts to the head. I relaxed. He stayed with me until the ambulance arrived and whisked me to Concordia Hospital. I’m coming along fine. My fingers finally allowed me to write and thank Shane McPhail.
