Beethoven biographer to discuss composer’s life
PHYSICIAN, psychiatrist and author Dr. Francois Mai will discuss Beethoven’s life, with assistance from pianist Richard Konrad, on Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. at the Centre culturel franco-manitobain. Mai, who wrote Diagnosing Genius, The Life and Death of Beethoven, will talk about the classical music master, who was born in Bonn, Germany, in 1770 and died in Vienna in 1827. The event is being organized by Manitoba Opera, which will be performing Beethoven’s Fidelio on Nov. 22, 25 and 28 at the Centennial Concert Hall.
