Random acts of kindness

Child’s flower brought cheer

Winnipeg Free Press - Section G - - THE SOCIAL PAGE -

I had just returned home from visiting my daughter and son-inlaw, who live far away. I had a great visit with my daughter, but miss her so terribly much. The next day was my uncle’s funeral, so I was not in a cheery mood. Just after lunch, I was in the produce section at Safeway when a very cute little girl approached me. She was maybe three or four years old, holding out a beautiful rose to me. She said it was for me. I asked her name, and I told her mine, shook her hand and thanked her very much. Then her mom came over and said Chloe loves to give flowers to people because she likes them to have a happy day. I sure had to work very, very hard to stop my tears from flowing. Chloe, you have touched my heart very dearly. Thank you again for your great thoughtfulness. Nearly a week later, my rose was still so beautiful.
