NIGHT TABLE

Executive director, Manitoba Music “A few months ago, I started seeing stills ffrom production of the movie Wild, based on Cheryl Strayed’s 2012 memoir, Wild: From LLost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail, and I wanted to read the book before the movie is released this fall. My own outdoor pursuits are inspired by tales of adventure in the great outdoors, and this story was edgier, rawer and more crucial than many I’ve read. While I’m sure the images on the big screen will be more spectacular than anything I could imagine while reading, I wanted Strayed’s written words to be my first introduction to the dynamics of her relationship with the trail and the people she met along the way.”
