RON Pradinuk, a travel writer for the Winnipeg Free Press, recently took home three bronze awards from the North American Travel Journalism Association’s annual awards presentations. The awards are presented in a number of categories related to the travel industry. Awards are given to publications, travel writers and photographers whose work was represented in print, electronic and online media from October 2014 to September 2015. Pradinuk was recognized for a two-part series about Palm Springs, a column on medical tourism and a travel tips piece. “While being recognized by your peers is always nice,” said Pradinuk, “the emails and comments I get from readers bring me both the greatest satisfaction and motivation to keep finding interesting travel topics to write about.” Pradinuk received honourable mentions for a pair of other columns he wrote. Free Press destinations editor Willy Williamson congratulated Pradinuk. “Ron Pradinuk is a walking encyclopedia of travel knowledge,” said Williamson. “Although he is a world traveller, his advice and insight always hits home.”
