HOW old are you? The response to this question can often define the destinations in which you are most interested. And it definitely places you in a category as a specific target for marketing departments around the world. It is an older generation which by and large fill ships going through the Panama Canal, for example, because of their historic knowledge of what this project meant decades ago. Those planning trips that focus on vacations to Orlando, Fla., are usually parents with families. Available activities, natural or developed, will further narrow the scope of visitor preferences. In the first few days of my trip to Myrtle Beach, in South Carolina, even as I wrote about it for last week’s story, I began to understand this region defies those generalizations. The last half of my stay solidified my appreciation for the fact Myrtle Beach really is one of those few destinations that is likely to appeal to everyone, even to you, regardless of where you sit on the demographic scale. The Family Kingdom Amusement Park is filled with a number of rides that will appeal to you, such as bumper cars, a lazy river, and roller-coasters designed for children of different age groups.
