Sharknado to return with sequel
WELL, Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! has come (and gone, except for innumerable reruns).
The idea of sharks showering down on Washington, D.C., had a certain charm — what, no Ottawa version? — but many critics are saying the series has, er, jumped the shark. The first two are so bad they’re good, but this one was just dreary, or so I read.
Deadline.com called it an “orgy of bad special effects and campy cameos.” Los Angeles Times television critic Robert Lloyd wrote, “Having now watched Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!, I find myself in the position of having to write about it. And I am not sure which is worse.”
Still, there will indeed be a fourth instalment, producers said. The third one ends with a cliffhanger — will Tara Reid’s character April live or die? — and viewers are invited to vote at syfy.com/sharknado3.
