KN­EVEL TOPS CFL SCOUT­ING BUREAU LIST

TORONTO — Ne­braska of­fen­sive line­man David Kn­evel opens the season as the CFL Scout­ing Bureau’s top-ranked prospect for the league’s 2018 draft.

The 6-9, 315-pound na­tive of Bramp­ton, Ont., se­cured the top spot in the or­ga­ni­za­tion’s top-20 list Wed­nes­day. He was an aca­demic All-Big Ten se­lec­tion last season.

Trey Ruther­ford, a 6-5, 312-pound of­fen­sive line­man at UConn, is ranked No. 2. The Markham, Ont., na­tive helped the Huskies rush for 100 or more yards in six games.
