TRUCKER DIES AFTER SEMI FLIPS UP NORTH

A SASKATCHEWAN trucker has died after his semi-trailer flipped onto its roof in north­ern Man­i­toba on Satur­day.

Cran­berry Portage RCMP said on Sun­day that the 34-year-old man, from Creighton, was driv­ing south­bound on High­way 10, about 35 kilo­me­tres north of Cran­berry Portage, around 8:50 a.m., when the truck en­tered the right-side shoul­der.

RCMP in­ves­ti­ga­tors be­lieve when the driver over-cor­rected, the truck flipped onto its roof.

The driver was pro­nounced dead at the scene. It is not known if he was wear­ing his seat­belt, RCMP said.

Of­fi­cers from the Cran­berry Portage and Flin Flon de­tach­ments con­tinue to in­ves­ti­gate, along with a col­li­sion re­con­struc­tion­ist.

Cran­berry Portage is 700 kilo­me­tres north­west of Win­nipeg.
