MAN FACING FIREARMS, DRUG CHARGES
A 43-YEAR-OLD Winnipeg man is facing a series of charges related to firearms and controlled substances.
Winnipeg police say they started investigating Keith James William Stewner earlier this month for possession of a firearm.
Last Friday morning, officers from community support units and the tactical support team executed a search warrant at an apartment on the 1600 block of Notre Dame Avenue.
Stewner was arrested and officers seized several items, including a loaded firearm with both barrels sawed off with the serial number defaced. Officers also took 28 .22-calibre cartridges, roughly $180 worth of ketamine and approximately $195 worth of methamphetamine.
Stewner has been charged with two counts of possessing a firearm while knowing it’s unauthorized, two counts of possessing a weapon, possession for the purpose of weapons trafficking and possession of controlled substances, among other offences.
