BALMORAL HALL PROJECT RECEIVES $2-MILLION DONATION
BALMORAL Hall School’s campaign for a new centre for arts and design has received a $2-million boost, thanks to the Richardson Foundation.
The school for girls, which has been active for 117 years, announced Friday the foundation is matching the $1 million raised from Richardson family members and employees of James Richardson and Sons, Ltd., who have a connection with the school.
“Education is one of the funding pillars of the Richardson Foundation, and we truly believe that this new facility will have a tremendous impact on young women in their pursuit of excellence in the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) sectors,” Hartley Richardson, president and chief executive officer of James Richardson and Sons, Ltd., and a trustee of the foundation, said in a statement.
The $6-million project is expected to open this spring.
