Man gunned down on Higgins

Winnipeg Sun - - NEWS - — David Larkins

Police are investigating what led to a man in his

30s being shot just outside downtown late Monday.

Police said a man on Higgins Ave. around 11:55 p.m. was shot after having some sort of altercation with another party on the street.

The victim was then shot at close range, police said.

“It appears as though the two parties were somehow engaged and I’m not going to be able to get into the details of what we think that is at this point,” Const. Rob Carver said. “Whether they knew each other, whether they were just speaking, but it was not a random, drive-by shooting.”

The victim was sent to hospital in critical condition and was later upgraded to stable.

Anyone with information is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204786-TIPS (8477).
