Mayor Brian Bowman has made a bet with his counterpart in Regina over Sunday’s CFL West semifinal and hoping not to have go green over it.

“In the unlikely event that the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are not successful on Sunday I will be lighting the Winnipeg sign (at The Forks) a disgusting shade of green,” said Bowman on Friday. "In the event when we of course win we will see blue and gold.

“So I’m really looking forward to having it properly lit in the very near future. I obviously want to wish the team and staff the very best.”

No word what Regina mayor Michael Fougere has promised to reciprocate in the event of the Blue Bombers victory.

“I ask all Winnipeggers who are traveling out to Regina to travel safely and cheer hard for the Bombers,” said Bowman.
