Since re­veal­ing his brain cancer di­ag­no­sis last year Trag­i­cally Hip front man Gord Downie has em­barked on an ac­claimed cre­ative streak, from a fi­nal Hip tour to his award-win­ning Se­cret Path, draw­ing at­ten­tion to the plight of Cana­dian Abo­rig­i­nal com­mu­ni­ties. On Oct. 27 Downie, 53, drops an orig­i­nal, solo dou­ble al­bum called In­tro­duce Yer­self, not­ing in an on­line trailer that “This is my soul on a record” and “each song is about a per­son.” Jen­nifer Baich­wal and Ni­cholas de Pencier di­rected both the trailer and Long Time Run­ning, a film about the Hip’s fi­nal tour air­ing na­tion­wide on CTV on Nov. 12.
