SET IN THE RICE PADDY LAND­SCAPES OF Ba l i, t he per for mance t ra i ni ng work­shop de­signed by Como Shamb­hala and run­ning on Septem­ber 24-30 will im­merse guests in a week of in­ten­sive fit­ness and nutri­tion. Phys­i­cal ac­tiv­i­ties are led by Jim Lu­bin­ski, a triath­lete and Iron­man coach, so don’t ex­pect an easy-paced work­out! The high-in­ten­sity ex­er­cise will com­bine run­ning on the beach, swim­ming in the ocean, hik­ing Mt Abang (third high­est peak on Bali), HIIT on the grass and strength train­ing in the gym. More restora­tive prac­tices such as yoga, aqua ther­apy, pi­lates, per­for­mance breath­ing and stretch­ing can be in­cor­po­rated to build on the gains in ath­letic en­durance, bal­ance and agility. Reg­is­tered nutri­tion­ist Eve Per­sak will be on standby to guide all par­tic­i­pants through ed­u­ca­tional ses­sions on t he nutri­tion side, fo­cus­ing on topics like fu­elling re­cov­ery, eat­ing for en­ergy ef­fi­ciency, ath­lete-ori­ented cleans­ing and fast­ing, and nu­traceu­ti­cal superfoods and sup­ple­ments. The pack­age in­cludes three nights spent at beach­side Como Uma Canggu, and the other three at jun­gle-fringed Shamb­hala. Guests will get two 60-minute Como mas­sages at each prop­erty.
