Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province Holds Trade Promotion in Beijing
From April 17 to 18, 2017, Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province and the Embassy of Pakistan in China held an economic and trade promotion in Beijing, presenting the province's 86 projects of 13 fields. Present at the event were a delegation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's governmental bodies and private enterprises led by Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province Pervez Khattak, and about 400 representatives of Chinese enterprises. At the event, memorandums on understanding of projects in 11 fields were signed.
Pervez Khattak remarked that the event was “a discovery and industrialisation trip of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.” At the event, he stressed Pakistan would provide a range of preferential policies for investors, and introduced Pakistan's efforts to improve its internal security.
At the opening ceremony of the event, Pakistan Ambassador to China Masood Khalid stressed the chief minister's visit and the event would help showcase the potential of the province's economic development, indicating the China-pakistan Economic Corridor is highly regarded in all of Pakistan's provinces and would further consolidate a long-term friendly tie between the two countries. The ChinaPakistan Economic Corridor reflected forwardthinking of the two countries' leaders and will benefit the two countries' peace and prosperity and the whole region's economic development.
As guest of honour of the event, the China-pakistan Friendship Association President Sha Zukang thought ChinaPakistan relations should serve as a model for other countries. According to him, the Belt and Road Initiative is a global concept to benefit global economic development.
