In 752, the Ab­basid Dy­nasty (750–1258), a new em­pire in the Arab world, sent diplo­matic en­voys to China. This visit marked the start of friendly ex­changes be­tween the Ab­basid Dy­nasty and the Tang Dy­nasty (618–907). In the en­su­ing years, the ruler of the Ab­basid Dy­nasty sent a largescale diplo­matic corps to China each year.
