In September 2017, American photographer Ana Brandt will hold a newborn infant photography seminar in Beijing.

This style photography aims to capture the beauty of newborn babies in photos or videos within three to fourteen days, and the photographer needs to set up different poses for the baby in a sleepy state, capturing them in their most natural state. Unlike child portraits, newborn infant photographers need knowledge of neonatal care and baby sleep knowledge as well as professional photography skills.

A mother of three, Brandt has 18 years of experience in shooting newborn babies. Apart from her daily photography in her Los Angeles studio, Brandt also designs educational programmes for photographers around the world who want to take on infant photography as a profession. In addition, to better accomplish her job, Brandt launched a special project in 2010, offering maternity dresses to pregnant women and taking photos periodically. In the meantime, she's designed pillows for newborn infants at different ages, offering better safety and a comfortable environment for newborns.

In recent years, with improvements in cultural exchanges at home and abroad, China's newborn infant photography market has shown momentum in development. Since Brandt's photo programmes have been sought after by young photographers as model work, her lectures have been regarded as an essential learning course of photography as a profession.
