PROMOTIONAL MEETING AT THE RUSSIAN CULTURAL CENTRE
Ameeting was recently held at the Russian Cultural Centre in Beijing co-hosted by the Embassy of the Russian Federation and the software producer Seldon to promote big data and artificial intelligence (AI). The meeting was organised to brief participating Chinese trade and commerce associations and companies about Seldon’s information products. Seldon provides online databases of Russian companies, supply- and-demand analysis and trade forecasts for customers using new technology such as big data and AI.
Ilya Dimitrov, a representative from Seldon, briefly introduced the company’s orientation and solutions for analysis and financial service markets, mainly focusing on one of the company’s software products for data analysis, modelling and forecasting. Experts noted that the product’s main advantage is that the software also has a Chinese version. Seldon’s president Mr. Divitrov detailed some of the company’s previous successes and services in information technology, market analysis and relevant fields.
Melnikova Olga, director of the Russian Cultural Centre, delivered a welcome speech to all those in attendance. She explained how the Beijing centre serves as a platform for Russian companies to promote their hightech achievements in China and collect necessary information for them. The centre has so far cooperated with both the Chinese and Russian authorities, social organisations, scientific research institutes, universities, innovation federations and youth federations and also maintains partnerships with major Chinese and Russian media groups.
The centre’s mission is to introduce Russian traditions and culture to Chinese audiences by holding diverse, interesting cultural events which improve mutual understanding between the two countries. Past cultural events have included cultural festivals, interviews with major Russian cultural figures, seminars, forums, roundtable meetings, book exhibitions and promotional meetings. The cultural centre also puts on frequent screenings of Russian films and organises concerts, plays, exhibitions, creative works, master classes and promotional meetings. The centre’s stage has been graced by a whole host of artistic forms and genres (including folk customs, music and dance) performed by famous artists and groups.
