New Water Supply

A resident of Xiaojia Village in Linxia of northwest China’s Gansu Province turns on a tap to obtain water diverted from the Yellow River on October 17.

Put into use two days earlier, a diversion project is expected to provide 49.7 million cubic meters of potable water to 570,000 local residents. It is expected to ease the regional shortage of water for several decades.
