A Changing Landscape
What is TV? How did something so seemingly basic become so complicated and diff icult to def ine recently? It used to be so simple. Television was the big black box sitting in the living room. The one the whole family used to crowd around to watch their favourite shows. It used to be appointment viewing… free-to-air…a handful of networks. Today, it’s cable, satellite, DTH and OTT. It’s streaming, pay-perview and downloads. It’s PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones. It’s every where, anytime and on any device!
To make sense of it all, CASBA A is pleased to be cooperating again with Campaign Asia-Pacif ic in producing the CASBA A TV Directory 2013/2014.
More than ever, the CASBA A TV Directory is proving to be the essential resource to make sense of the multichannel TV industry in the Asia-Pacif ic. With over 2,000 company listings of television-related businesses from a regional perspective and in local markets, this year’s guide will cover everything from broadcasters and channels to satellite operators, research, legal services and everything in between.
The CASBA A TV Directory 2013/2014 is just one of the many tools and services that the Association offers to its membership and to the multichannel TV industry in the region.
As part of our ongoing commitment in promoting the benefits of advertising on multichannel TV, CASBAA Ad continues to organize a series of TV Upfronts in key markets throughout Asia-Pacific including Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia. A chance for the multichannel TV industry to come together, the TV Upfronts provide a platform for pay-TV broadcasters to unveil the best content from the industry’s leading global networks along with industry experts presenting new programming, new content products, and bespoke and localized advertising solutions.
This year also marks the 20th CASBAA Convention. Long a staple of the multichannel TV industry calendar, the CASBAA Convention 2013 will be doing things a little differently this October. Fittingly themed “Change is on the Air”, this year’s event will introduce a new structure, new formats, and new sessions to complement a stellar roster of international presenters and speakers. However, what won’t change is our promise to provide the best platform to inform, represent and connect with our members and delegates.
Mark your calendars! The CASBAA Convention 2013 will take place 22-24 October in Hong Kong. We will see you there!
