What is TV? How did some­thing so seem­ingly ba­sic be­come so com­pli­cated and diff icult to def ine re­cently? It used to be so sim­ple. Tele­vi­sion was the big black box sit­ting in the liv­ing room. The one the whole fam­ily used to crowd around to watch their favourite shows. It used to be ap­point­ment view­ing… free-to-air…a hand­ful of net­works. To­day, it’s ca­ble, satel­lite, DTH and OTT. It’s stream­ing, pay-per­view and down­loads. It’s PCs, lap­tops, tablets and smart­phones. It’s ev­ery where, any­time and on any de­vice!

To make sense of it all, CASBA A is pleased to be co­op­er­at­ing again with Cam­paign Asia-Pacif ic in pro­duc­ing the CASBA A TV Di­rec­tory 2013/2014.

More than ever, the CASBA A TV Di­rec­tory is prov­ing to be the es­sen­tial re­source to make sense of the mul­ti­chan­nel TV in­dus­try in the Asia-Pacif ic. With over 2,000 com­pany list­ings of tele­vi­sion-re­lated businesses from a re­gional per­spec­tive and in lo­cal mar­kets, this year’s guide will cover ev­ery­thing from broad­cast­ers and chan­nels to satel­lite oper­a­tors, re­search, le­gal ser­vices and ev­ery­thing in be­tween.

The CASBA A TV Di­rec­tory 2013/2014 is just one of the many tools and ser­vices that the As­so­ci­a­tion of­fers to its mem­ber­ship and to the mul­ti­chan­nel TV in­dus­try in the re­gion.

As part of our on­go­ing com­mit­ment in pro­mot­ing the ben­e­fits of ad­ver­tis­ing on mul­ti­chan­nel TV, CASBAA Ad continues to or­ga­nize a se­ries of TV Up­fronts in key mar­kets through­out Asia-Pa­cific in­clud­ing Hong Kong, Thai­land, Sin­ga­pore, Malaysia, the Philip­pines and In­done­sia. A chance for the mul­ti­chan­nel TV in­dus­try to come to­gether, the TV Up­fronts pro­vide a plat­form for pay-TV broad­cast­ers to un­veil the best con­tent from the in­dus­try’s leading global net­works along with in­dus­try ex­perts pre­sent­ing new pro­gram­ming, new con­tent prod­ucts, and be­spoke and lo­cal­ized ad­ver­tis­ing so­lu­tions.

This year also marks the 20th CASBAA Con­ven­tion. Long a sta­ple of the mul­ti­chan­nel TV in­dus­try cal­en­dar, the CASBAA Con­ven­tion 2013 will be do­ing things a lit­tle dif­fer­ently this Oc­to­ber. Fit­tingly themed “Change is on the Air”, this year’s event will in­tro­duce a new struc­ture, new for­mats, and new ses­sions to com­ple­ment a stel­lar ros­ter of in­ter­na­tional pre­sen­ters and speak­ers. How­ever, what won’t change is our prom­ise to pro­vide the best plat­form to in­form, rep­re­sent and con­nect with our mem­bers and del­e­gates.
