SES is a world-leading satellite operator that delivers high quality and reliable satellite communication services to broadcasters, enterprises and government organisations across the globe. We own and operate a global fleet of more than 50 geostationary satellites that cover 99% of the world’s population, and our services are complemented by a network of teleports and offices worldwide. We currently operate five satellites at prime orbital locations across Asia-Pacific to serve the diverse needs of our customers. We provide seamless coverage that enables media operators to deliver more than 800 TV channels through seven direct-to-home (DTH) platforms — reaching almost 30 million DTH households in the region. Our high-performance satellites also support global corporate networks and extend broadband connectivity to remote locations. Our satellite footprints in Asia-Pacific include:
• NSS-12 at 57°E
The satellite provides vital capacity to support DTH services and deliver 3G and Wi-max backhaul services across the Asia-Pacific region.
• NSS-6 at 95°E
Bringing high-powered Ku-band capacity to support the delivery of DTH content from the Mediterranean Sea to Australia, NSS-6 further delivers reliable capacity for key telecommunications and broadband networks across the Middle East and Asia.
• NSS-11 and SES-7 at 108.2°E
By having two satellites co-located at the same orbital position, SES is able to deliver satellite redundancy that enables our customers to develop their business. NSS-11 provides optimal coverage to support a full range of video and data applications, while SES-7 serves to bring incremental Ku-band capacity to drive the growth of DTH and VSAT services across South Asia and the Asia-Pacific region.
• NSS-9 at 177°W
Providing wide coverage across the Pacific Ocean region, NSS-9 is ideal for enabling vital communication services and connecting a number of Pacific Island communities to the rest of the world. SES has outlined plans to launch more satellites between 2013 and 2015 to support growth markets in Asia-Pacific. The upcoming launch of SES-8 in 2013 will provide growth capacity at the 95°E orbital position to drive the burgeoning development of DTH, VSAT and government applications. Scheduled for launch in 2015, SES-9 at 108.2°E will significantly expand our capabilities to support DTH broadcasting and other communications services in North East Asia, South Asia and Indonesia. With our fast expanding satellite fleet, dedicated professionals and leading-edge technology, SES is committed to delivering a platform that drives our customers’ long-term success in the Asia-Pacific region.
