100 Boeing 737 to be refit into cargo planes
The Kunlun Commercial Aircraft and Hainan Airlines Group held a signing ceremony in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone on May 9 to transform 100 Boeing 737 aircraft into cargo planes in Wuhan. The annual refitting capacity of this project will be 24 planes, an estimated yearly output value of RMB 2.9 billion. The project will take use of Hannan General Aviation Airport.
The 100 Boeing 737s, approximately 15 years old, mainly come from Hainan Airlines Group. After the transformation work, they will be delivered to the cargo company attached to Hainan Airlines Group, according to Jiang Hong, chairman of Kunlun Commercial Aircraft.
