Prepa­ra­tions for Mil­i­tary World Games march for­ward

The 7th CISM Mil­i­tary World Games (MWG) Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­tee held a sign­ing cer­e­mony on May 11 at Wuhan's In­ter­na­tional Con­fer­ence Cen­ter for two MOUs (Me­moran­dums of Un­der­stand­ing), in­volv­ing parachut­ing event. Dur­ing their week-long ap­praisal, CISM of­fi­cers and direc­tors of com­pe­ti­tion events also signed me­moran­dums on mod­ern pen­tathlon, eques­trian, naval pen­tathlon, mil­i­tary pen­tathlon, and ori­en­teer­ing events.

Han­nan Gen­eral Avi­a­tion Air­port was se­lected as the venue for the parachut­ing event. The air­port, which can ac­com­mo­date 500,000 spec­ta­tors, has been com­pleted and was put into use at the end of last year. It will be fur­ther de­vel­oped into the largest gen­eral avi­a­tion hub, nav­i­ga­tion air­craft R&D man­u­fac­tur­ing cen­ter, and avi­a­tion sports base in Cen­tral China. Lieu­tenant­colonel Rafael Pin­hero, Sports Di­rec­tor Deputy & Sports Com­mit­tee Man­ager, said that the air­port will fully meet the needs of the MWG.
