Jiang'an, land of ecol­ogy and econ­omy

Jiang'an Dis­trict, lo­cated on the north side of the Yangtze River flow­ing by Wuhan, forms part of the city's ur­ban core. The dis­trict cov­ers an area of 80.28 square kilo­me­ters.

Jiang'an Dis­trict is the heart of Hankou, one of the three bor­oughs that com­prise to­day's Wuhan. The mod­ern­iza­tion of Wuhan took off in Jiang'an, where 122 out­stand­ing his­tor­i­cal build­ings are scat­tered. Th­ese build­ings are wit­nesses to the his­tor­i­cal changes and devel­op­ment of the old Hankou . tI is Jiang'an Dis­trict where Wuhan's rep­u­ta­tion as "the thor­ough­fare to nine prov­inces," be­gan to spread to other places. That say­ing best de­scribes the city's strate­gic po­si­tion in the coun­try.

Jiang'an has de­vel­oped and thrived be­cause of the Yangtze River. Its coast­line stretches 16.8 kilo­me­ters with the widest swath of tide­land found in Wuhan. The Hank­ouRiver­side Park, Asia's long­est eco­log­i­cal cor­ri­dor along the Yangtze River, is sit­u­ated in the dis­trict, pre­sent­ing a pic­turesque view of the Changjiang Axis.
