Over­seas celebri­ties visit Wuhan

A group of 11 well-known journalists, lead­ing in­dus­trial fig­ures, and think tank ex­perts from Ger­many, France, Aus­tralia, Iran, Ukraine, Poland, Al­ba­nia, the Republic of Korea, Ja­pan, and Thai­land paid a four-day visit to Wuhan from May 27 to May 30. The mem­bers, while dif­fer­ing in places of ori­gin and fields of ex­per­tise, all boast a large In­ter­net fol­low­ing. Dur­ing their stay, they ap­pre­ci­ated a night show on the Yangtze River, vis­ited some tech­no­log­i­cal com­pa­nies, and got a taste of the col­or­ful life and folk cul­ture of Wuhan.

The ac­tiv­ity was co-hosted by the Publicity Depart­ment of the CPC Wuhan Mu­nic­i­pal Com­mit­tee and the

CRI On­line of Cen­tral Ra­dio and Tele­vi­sion Sta­tion. It was or­ga­nized to help for­eign­ers learn and ex­pe­ri­ence the high­lights of the city's im­ple­men­ta­tion of the Green De­vel­op­ment Strat­egy of the Yangtze River Eco­nomic Belt.

On the night of May 27 the guests boarded the Zhiyin Cruise. They were treated to won­der­ful performances and a light show of Wuhan. To­gether they sang, "We Are Here," and wrote "I love Wuhan," in their own lan­guages.

The next morn­ing, they cy­cled on the East Lake Green­way, went boat­ing on East Lake, and watched a per­for­mance of the In­tan­gi­ble Cul­tural Her­itage on Han Street. Th­ese ac­tiv­i­ties helped them to fully ap­pre­ci­ate the nat­u­ral and hu­man­is­tic charm of Wuhan. At the sym­po­sium held in the af­ter­noon, they highly praised the city's ef­forts and re­mark­able achieve­ments in its green de­vel­op­ment and put for­ward some fea­si­ble sug­ges­tions re­lated to the evo­lu­tion of the city's brand im­age and publicity.

On May 29, the group was shown around the Op­tics Val­ley hi-tech en­ter­prises the Yangtze Op­ti­cal Fiber and Cable Joint Stock Lim­ited and Fiber­home. Later, they vis­ited the Hubei Pro­vin­cial Mu­seum and the Yel­low Crane Tower and learned about Wuhan's his­tory and its rapid growth.

On the night of May 29 and the morn­ing of May 30, they went to his­tor­i­cal ar­eas in Wuhan, such as Jiqing Street and Tan­hualin, to en­joy tra­di­tional Wuhan folk cul­ture.
