Overseas celebrities visit Wuhan
A group of 11 well-known journalists, leading industrial figures, and think tank experts from Germany, France, Australia, Iran, Ukraine, Poland, Albania, the Republic of Korea, Japan, and Thailand paid a four-day visit to Wuhan from May 27 to May 30. The members, while differing in places of origin and fields of expertise, all boast a large Internet following. During their stay, they appreciated a night show on the Yangtze River, visited some technological companies, and got a taste of the colorful life and folk culture of Wuhan.
The activity was co-hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Wuhan Municipal Committee and the
CRI Online of Central Radio and Television Station. It was organized to help foreigners learn and experience the highlights of the city's implementation of the Green Development Strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
On the night of May 27 the guests boarded the Zhiyin Cruise. They were treated to wonderful performances and a light show of Wuhan. Together they sang, "We Are Here," and wrote "I love Wuhan," in their own languages.
The next morning, they cycled on the East Lake Greenway, went boating on East Lake, and watched a performance of the Intangible Cultural Heritage on Han Street. These activities helped them to fully appreciate the natural and humanistic charm of Wuhan. At the symposium held in the afternoon, they highly praised the city's efforts and remarkable achievements in its green development and put forward some feasible suggestions related to the evolution of the city's brand image and publicity.
On May 29, the group was shown around the Optics Valley hi-tech enterprises the Yangtze Optical Fiber and Cable Joint Stock Limited and Fiberhome. Later, they visited the Hubei Provincial Museum and the Yellow Crane Tower and learned about Wuhan's history and its rapid growth.
On the night of May 29 and the morning of May 30, they went to historical areas in Wuhan, such as Jiqing Street and Tanhualin, to enjoy traditional Wuhan folk culture.
