U.K.-Wuhan De­sign Month art ex­hi­bi­tions

A range of events un­der the frame­work of the U.K.Wuhan De­sign Month was launched in Wuhan on May 24 and will con­tinue for one month. Among the many events are two art ex­hi­bi­tions open to the pub­lic.

An on­go­ing ex­hi­bi­tion ti­tled "Hid­den De­sign" is at Wuhan Tiandi's Hori­zon Plaza. The ex­hi­bi­tion fo­cuses on pho­tos of th e Ch in­ese and Bri­tish -style tra­di­tional ar­chi­tec­ture in Wuh an, like th e Tanh ualin res­i­dences and the Hankou Cus­toms Build­ing.

An­other com­po­nent of the ex­hi­bi­tion will be live sketch­ings. Th­ese, based on the pho­tos on dis­play, will be drawn by art stu­dents from Wuhan Uni­ver­sity of Tech­nol­ogy dur­ing the ex­hi­bi­tion.

"We are go­ing to use th­ese pho­to­graphs for the live sketch­ings and the pub­lic will be able to sub­mit pho­to­graphs about Wuhan as well," said Paul James, teacher at Wuhan Uni­ver­sity of Tech­nol­ogy.

The other ex­hi­bi­tion will be held at K11 in Op­tics Val­ley from June 9 to 23. In­cluded will be over 30 works cre­ated by stu­dents at Birm­ing­ham In­sti­tute of Fash­ion and Cre­ative Arts (BIFCA). This in­sti­tute was co-built by Wuhan Tex­tile Uni­ver­sity and Birm­ing­ham City Uni­ver­sity.
