Under the guidance of the National Defense Education Office, a large-scale military barracks opening-day event was held in Wuhan on August 15. The heads of the National Defense Education Office from 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, the representatives from the armed forces and police force, and more than 3,000 Wuhan citizens took part in the event.

Participants watched seven skills and tactical demonstrations, experienced parachuting, and ate the military rations.

Wuhan has held more than 20 events on August 15, the traditional day for military-civilian activities, since 2012. Thousands of citizens have had the chance to attend and experience the progress of the military.

According to the National Defense Education Office, more and more opening-day events will be held in at least 600 military barracks in China this year.
