Students' special summer homework

Changjiang Weekly - - SOCIETY - By Guo Lixia

On the school opening day at Gangcheng No. 1 Primary School, Qingshan District, students handed in their special summer vacation assignments: representations of traditional Chinese dramas by painting, paper craft and other expressions of this Chinese art form. The materials used are second-hand paper boxes or other waste products.

Dong Xiaoyu from Class 601 made a miniature theater of the Peach Garden Oath with meticulous detail of realistic facial expressions, life-like peach trees and a miniature lawn. Tan Yaoming from Class 602 created an ancient Chinese grocery. To do so, he did a vast amount of research on the Internet, which not only enhanced his practical ability but broadened his knowledge.
