Chi­nese ver­sion of Ghetto starts tour soon

The Mag­nif­i­cent Cul­ture Com­pany an­nounced on Au­gust 27 in Bei­jing that "Ghetto," the most sen­sa­tional play in the his­tory of Is­rael, is ex­pect­ing its Chi­nese ver­sion soon and will hold a na­tional tour start­ing from Novem­ber. "Ghetto" will be staged at Wuhan Qin­tai Grand The­ater on Jan­uary 19, 2019.

Writ­ten and directed by Is­raeli play­wright Joshua Sobol, "Ghetto" is the most re­pro­duced Is­raeli play in the world. Adapted from the his­tory of World War II, the play tells the sto­ries of mu­sic-lov­ing res­i­dents, ac­tors, singers, and poets in Vilna Ghetto dur­ing Nazi oc­cu­pa­tion. The cast for the Chi­nese ver­sion of "Ghetto" in­cludes French-Jewish artist Anais­tamo Mar­tane, and Chi­nese ac­tors Feng Xianzhen, Sun Qiang, and Yan Nan.
