2019 FIBA ( In­ter­na­tional Bas­ket­ball Fed­er­a­tion) Bas­ket­ball World Cup was held in Lingjiaohu Wanda Plaza. Wuhan is the fourth city to ini­ti­ate the count­down clock fol­low­ing Bei­jing, Shang­hai and Nan­jing.

The FIBA Bas­ket­ball World Cup is con­sid­ered to be the flag­ship event of In­ter­na­tional Bas­ket­ball Fed­er­a­tion con­tested by the men's na­tional teams of the mem­bers of the In­ter­na­tional Bas­ket­ball Fed­er­a­tion. It is held ev­ery four years.

The 2019 FIBA Bas­ket­ball World Cup is to be held from Au­gust 31 to Septem­ber 15,

2019, in eight cities Bei­jing, Shang­hai, Nan­jing, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Shen­zhen, Foshan and Dong­guan when 32 bas­ket­ball teams in­clud­ing the host coun­try China will fight for cham­pi­onship.

Wuhan, as one of the eight di­vi­sions and also the only host city in Cen­tral China, will hold six group games and four sec­on­dround games. The event will be the high­est level bas­ket­ball com­pe­ti­tion held in Wuhan to date.
