Utility of the sports facilities after MWG

Changjiang Weekly - - 2019 MILITARY WORLD GAMES -

The sports facilities will be used in three ways when the Military World Games (MWG) is over: for other high-level events, for teaching and research, and for mass fitness activities.

For example, the Wuhan Business University equestrian court, the management of which will be transferred to a professional company in the name of a sports park after MWG, will be open to the public for learning about and watching equestrian sports. This is in addition to functioning as a base for teaching, research and sports events.

According to the Director of the Facility Department of the MWG Executive Committee, utility has always been part of the plan for most of the sports facilities under construction. For example, she said the parachuting field at Hannan General Airport was used to hold the World Fly-in Expo last year. The MWG media center will be transformed into an ice-sports area, and the Guofang (National Defense) Archery Range in Caidian is a supplement to the other professional-sports facilities in Wuhan. "These world-class facilities will host other high-level sport events in the future while providing world-class entertainment for sports lovers," the director said.
