7th CISM World Games em­ploys hand­book to stan­darize English use

The Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­tee of the

7th CISM World Games con­ducted a train­ing pro­gram for nearly 70 English trans­la­tors from 39 com­pe­ti­tion com­mit­tees on Septem­ber 26, dur­ing which a hand­book for stan­dard English has been adopted for train­ing and prepa­ra­tion.

English is the of­fi­cial lan­guage of the 7th CISM World Games. Ac­cord­ing to the staff of the Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­tee, in ad­di­tion to Chi­nese, English will be used on of­fi­cial oc­ca­sions such as the open­ing and clos­ing cer­e­monies and press con­fer­ences. The hand­book is ex­pected to be uti­lized by thou­sands of peo­ple in­clud­ing 200 pro­fes­sional English trans­la­tors and other or­ga­niz­ing staff and vol­un­teers.

The 7th CISM World Games, sched­uled to be held in Oc­to­ber

2019, is the largest ac­tiv­ity ever to be hosted in Wuhan with English as the sec­ond work­ing lan­guage.
