Theme songs for CISM World Games re­vealed

The next time the cal­en­dar rolls around to Oc­to­ber 18, the 7th CISM World Games will of­fi­cially be­gin. A press con­fer­ence in Bei­jing kicked off the oneyear count­down to this global sports event.

The press con­fer­ence was held in the con­fer­ence hall of the Min­istry of Na­tional De­fense on Oc­to­ber 17. At the launch of the oneyear count­down, eight theme songs of the games were

re­vealed, an an­i­ma­tion fea­tur­ing the mas­cot Bing­bing was shown, and a pro­mo­tional video was put on.

The event is es­sen­tially the Olympics for sol­diers. Es­tab­lished by the CISM, it has 136 mem­ber coun­tries. The event is put on ev­ery four years, last­ing seven to ten days. The 7th CISM World Games will be ten-day event, tak­ing place be­tween Oc­to­ber 18 and 27, 2019. It is es­ti­mated that nearly 10, 000 ath­letes from 100 coun­tries will par­tic­i­pate in the 25 of­fi­cial com­pet­i­tive events and two non­com­pet­i­tive events.

Since its es­tab­lish­ment in Italy, the six games have been held in Italy (twice), Croa­tia, In­dia, Brazil, and the Repub­lic of Korea. This is the first time that China will host the event and it is the first world-class com­pe­ti­tion to be held in Hubei.
