Abstract:The first issue we have to deal with in implementing the national strategy of the Belt and Road Initiative is connectivity;the factors that will have impacts on the agglomeration and diffusion of regional tourism economy are the focus for us to transform, upgrade, accelerate and improve the quality of tourism industry development. According to theory of new geography economics and province panel data of the Belt and Road from 2001 to 2014,the authors establish the Spatial Dubin Model (SDM) and carry out the empirical research on the spatial effect of such factors as traffic infrastructure on the regional tourism specialization. It is found that:first, the overall changes of the Belt and Road tourism specialization have demonstrated obvious characteristics of spatial relevance, the club agglomeration;second, there exists significant spatial spillover effect among different regional tourism specialization levels;and third, there is spatial difference between the direct effect and spatial spillover effect of such factors as different types of traffic infrastructure on regional tourism specialization.
