We Get­Mar­ried, a hit TV drama star­ring Gao Yuanyuan and Huang Haibo, has be­come the most pop­u­lar show on Youku, a widely watched video web­site in China. The ro­man­tic se­ries was re­leased online on Nov 6, the same day as the show’s pre­miere on tele­vi­sion. It has been viewed 1 bil­lion times on the web­site. Youku has be­come a pop­u­lar al­ter­na­tive to tele­vi­sion, with 40 shows read­ing more than 100 mil­lion views. It pro­duces its own con­tent, too. In early De­cem­ber, the web­site launched the fifth edi­tion of its young di­rec­tors cam­paign, aim­ing to find more tal­ents in the in­dus­try and help them launch their ca­reer.
