One-child pol­icy to be re­laxed

The Guangxi Zhuang au­ton­o­mous re­gion will re­lax the coun­try’s decades­old one-child pol­icy be­gin­ning in March to al­low cer­tain cou­ples to have two chil­dren, Guangxi Daily re­ported. Guangxi will be the first re­gion on the main­land to re­lax the pol­icy. Cou­ples in which ei­ther the hus­band or wife is an only child will be al­lowed to have a sec­ond child, said Huang Dan, di­rec­tor of the Guangxi re­gional pop­u­la­tion and fam­ily plan­ning com­mis­sion.
